Catalog description

Pre-requisites: graduate standing. Through readings, discussion and a hands-on problem-centered approach, students will develop a profound understanding of concepts of data analysis and probability and deepen their understanding of the research on the teaching and learning of data analysis and probability in K–9 mathematics. Major emphases will be learners’ cognitive development through and across different grade levels, including that of diverse and exceptional learners, typical student conceptions and misconceptions, meaningful use of representations and technology in developing understanding and state and national standards related to data analysis and probability.
