Catalog description

Pre-requisites: MATH 347 . This course is a study of partial differential equations via boundary value problems and Fourier series representations, centered on classical and numerical solutions of the heat equation, wave equation, advection equation and Laplace equation, modeling applications and use of technology through mathematical software. Topics may include Bessel's inequality, energy methods, existence and uniqueness, eigenfunction expansions and integral transforms.
