Satisfies: a BACR for humanities and arts. Provides an introduction to the basic range of methods and issues in the study of religion. The course takes an interdisciplinary approach, one that is multi-dimensional, and cross-cultural in its sampling of religious perspectives. The course takes a phenomenological and non-sectarian approach to the study of religion. It describes the experiences, beliefs, and behaviors of religious people without prescribing them for the student and/or the instructor.
