Catalog description
Satisfies: a BACR for humanities and arts. Examines European and Islamic literature of the Middle Ages until the Renaissance. Students learn about the tradition of Western and Islamic ideas and learn to distinguish genres, such as epic, romance, and lyric, and narrative techniques, like frame narrative and allegory, and learn how these express cultural narratives, beliefs, and symbols, and finally to develop skills in critical reading, writing, and the use of sources.
