Catalog description

Pre-requisites: ENGL 201 or permission of instructor. Renaissance and Reformation Europe presents the political and religious contexts in which major cultural figures created their works: from Machiavelli and Martin Luther to Galileo and Shakespeare. This course also looks at how religious persecution and warfare effected ordinary people and remade European society between 1350 and 1600.
