GENDER AND WAR IN THE 20TH CENTURY.

Catalog description

Pre-requisites: ENGL 201 or permission of instructor. Explores the relationship between social constructions of gender and the history of war in the 20th century. Topics include how gender is used to justify war and the use of gender ideologies in pacifist movements. The course also looks at ways that individual men and women experienced war and war’s effects on the social, sexual, psychological, political, and economic aspects of individuals’ lives.
