Pre-requisites: ENGL 201 or equivalent, or permission of instructor. Satisfies: a university graduation requirement–diversity. This course provides a general survey of the experience of eastern Asian immigrants and their descendants in the U.S. from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. The study focuses on the following groups: Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, Korean, Asian Indian, and Vietnamese and their collective history within the broad context of American history.
