Satisfies: a BACR for humanities and arts. Presents the cultural, religious, military, and political development of the Near East and Europe from the classical period through the Middle Ages and Renaissance. In particular, students learn about the religious contexts in which monotheisms emerged, the evolution of ancient city-states and empires, feudalism, and the emergence of monarchical states.
