Catalog description
Satisfies: a BACR for humanities and arts. Surveys the major trends in human history beginning with the rise of civilizations in the fourth millennia BCE and continuing to 1500 CE. The geographical gaze of this course spans the globe, and the narratives and historical contributions of distinct world civilizations will be assessed through the lenses of culture, religion, politics, gender, and the environment. Through source analysis, discussion, and other media students gain a historical knowledge of past civilizations.
