Catalog description
Pre-requisites: junior standing. This course is an introduction to health-related legislation, regulation, and ethics in healthcare administration. The legal and ethical implications for providers and consumers of health care are explored. Topics covered include contracts, fraud, and abuse, antitrust and corporate, criminal and tax law, informed consent, patient rights, medical worker issues, and conflict of interest. Ethics, risk management, and corporate compliance are discussed.
