Pre-requisites: GEOS 100 , CHEM 171 or HONS 171 , and CHEM 171L . Corequisite: GEOS 311L . An introduction to the materials that comprise the solid earth, including minerals, igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Includes discussions of their occurrence, associations and uses. Methods of identification are stressed during laboratory exercises. Companion course to GEOS 311L .
