Pre-requisites: Corequisite: GEOS 113L . Satisfies: a BACR for natural sciences. Explores Earth’s atmosphere, covering the subjects of energy balance, atmospheric moisture, and global atmospheric and oceanic circulation. Analyzes various atmospheric disturbances such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Includes studying climate, weather patterns, and trends over a much longer period. The investigation looks at modern climate types and vegetation patterns, paleoclimatology, and the current threat of global climate change. Companion course to GEOS 113L .
