Pre-requisites: sophomore standing. Designed for students who want to enter the teaching profession. Explores the historical, philosophical, legal, and sociological foundations of education in the US, introducing students to how educational systems reflect broader cultural, political, and economic forces. Students begin developing their professional identity by exploring foundational theories of education and current expectations of professional educators in schooling systems.
