Catalog description

Pre-requisites: admission to the PB Dental Hygiene Practitioner program. This lecture and laboratory course focuses on developing competency on theoretical and laboratory principles of operative dentistry utilizing direct placement restorative materials in the permanent dentition. In a simulated setting, operative dentistry techniques are applied to restore form, function, and esthetics to diseased teeth including basic principles of cavity preparation and restoration, and appropriate selection and application of direct restorative materials.
