Pre-requisites: CMSD 331S and CMSD 357S . An intro to augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with complex communication needs. Focuses on assessment, interventions, and instructional strategies for children and adults with moderate to severe congenital or acquired disorders in speech and language. In-depth study of clinically relevant topics and evidenced base practice are utilized to facilitate an understanding of historical perspectives and current issues related to AAC.
