Catalog description
Pre-requisites: CHEM 304 , CHEM 304L , CHEM 316 and CHEM 352 (or concurrent), or permission of the instructor. Corequisite: CHEM 416L . Includes a detailed study of atmospheric, soil, water, and waste water chemistry. Aspects of environmental/analytical chemistry are introduced. Laboratory work covers aspects of sampling, instrumental and automated analysis, and regulatory requirements. Students concentrate in the area of their particular interest, leading to a comprehensive written research report and presentation. Companion course to CHEM 416L .
