Pre-requisites: CHEM 173 and CHEM 173L . An integrated study of fundamental organic chemistry for Chemistry majors and students planning on careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, engineering, or related fields. Emphasizes nomenclature, bonding, reactivity, stereochemistry, synthetic methods, reaction mechanisms, physical properties, and spectrometric identification of the principal classes of organic compounds, including biochemical examples.
