Catalog description

Pre-requisites: graduate standing. Focus on intervention skills and self-care practices for dealing with trauma-exposed children and adolescents. Instruction includes developmental theories related to children experiencing acute medical situations and the importance of therapeutic relationships during those traumatic experiences. Introduction to debriefing and support techniques for children experiencing trauma will be addressed, as well as insights into helping their family through a traumatic or bereavement situation.
