Pre-requisites: admission to the MBA or permission of the School of Business Director of Graduate Programs. Examines U.S. employment law and the system of collective bargaining (labor relations). The focus on balancing efficiency, equity, and voice for employers and employees. Topics cover the history, regulation, and structure of bargaining, plus processes from unit formation to contract administration (private/public sectors). The course uses case studies and exercises to analyze current issues. The objective is to apply these critical insights to manage labor relations in any workplace.
