Pre-requisites: ADST 308 or ADST 430 . Designed to assist social work, mental health counseling students, and chemical dependency professional trainees (students) in obtaining the skills needed to conduct an accurate substance abuse assessment/evaluation and to determine the appropriate level of treatment by understanding accepted criteria for diagnosis and placement criteria (ASAM), utilizing assessment instruments, analyzing/interpreting data, documenting assessments, and making appropriate treatment recommendations.
