Catalog description

Pre-requisites: admission to MPAcc program, ACCT 512 or ACCT 356 or approved equivalent. The course is designed to extend and apply the knowledge base in cost accounting and provide a further understanding of managerial accounting issues in planning, organizing and controlling organizational activities. Topics include analyzing and managing costs, developing cost systems that facilitate decision-making, identifying opportunities for improving business process, and developing measures to assess performance. Focus is on cost control and profit analysis.
