I, II. Prerequisites: completion of all academic readiness requirements in English and reading or ENG 101R ; and Math ACT score of 19 or higher, Math SAT score of 500 or higher, or passing score on math placement test, or MAT 105 or higher; pre-teaching or elementary, and middle school, special education, and DHH majors only, or departmental approval. An inquiry-based, conceptual-approach biological sciences course for teaching majors. Topics include the nature of science, cell biology, biodiversity, inheritance, ecology and ecosystems, evolution and adaptation. May not be used to satisfy area, major, or minor requirements.
