<p><span style="color: #0000ff;">GEM STAMPED: GEM 4: SCIENTIFIC WAYS OF KNOWING</span></p> Laboratory exercises will demonstrate the common skills and techniques used when working with microbes. Essential lab equipment will be introduced. Topics covered include lab safety, aseptic technique, microscope use, staining techniques, differences between eukaryotes and prokaryotes, microbial growth and control, experimental design, and epidemiology.
