Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the criminal process from arrest through trial and sentencing. It includes discussions of the law and procedures applicable at each stage, including classification of crimes, warrants, searches and seizures, confessions, evidence, preservation, preliminary hearings, motions, pleas, and trials. Particular crimes are treated substantively as necessary to supply examples. Practical exercises are contemplated. All pre-requisites must be completed with a grade of 'C' or higher.
