Catalog description
This course presents mathematics as a deductive science which starts with empirical observations but goes beyond the level of simple, unrelated facts. Search for patterns and, when discovered, justification of them is the essence of this course. Similarities and differences between structures of numbers, sets, and some algebraic objects are discussed. Course may not be used for credit toward a Mathematics major.
