GN: WS: Women In Literature

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the literature of established women authors from a range of racial, ethnic, and socio-political backgrounds. Through reading and writing assignments, as well as class discussion, students will explore literature that deals with issues such as body image, family, empowerment, violence, gender roles, identity, and cultural attitudes through a woman's point of view. Requisite course ENGL 103 : English Composition or ENGL 104 : English Composition for Secondary Education majors may be taken as pre-requisites or concurrently as corequisites.
