Catalog description

The fundamental concepts relating to matter, its properties, composition, structure, and reactions are presented. The student is introduced to the chemical elements, the periodic table, inorganic nomenclature, atomic theory and structure, chemical reactions and equilibria, solution chemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Applications to the health sciences of the principles presented will be emphasized. Some algebraic experience is desirable. This course may be useful in preparation for CHEM 121 .
