Catalog description

Within the curricular framework and across the lifespan, the focus of this competency based course is on fundamental nursing concepts related to the roles of the associate degree nurse. Nursing process, caring, and communication/documentation are introduced. The concepts of nursing, person, society, and health are explored. Teaching/learning principles are introduced. An introduction to pharmacology, including dosages and solution calculation, and beginning medication administration is included. An introduction to the roles of provider of care, manager of care, and member of the profession is included.
