Catalog description

This course introduces the foundational principles of respiratory therapy and prepares students with the essential knowledge to become competent respiratory therapists. Students will examine the history and development of the respiratory care profession while gaining an understanding of core concepts such as patient assessment, safety protocols, infection control, quality of care, and ethical responsibilities. Prerequisite: Admission to the MHPC Respiratory Care Program through ECC. Corequisites: RSC*110, RSC*115, RSC*120, and RSC*121, RSC*165
