Introduction to Astronomy

Catalog description

This course introduces the concepts and principles of our knowledge of the Earth, Solar System, stars and galaxies, other objects in the universe, and the universe itself and its evolution. The course also explores some of the methods used in studying astronomical objects such as observations from telescopes and spacecraft, the scientific method, and basic concepts from physics, geology, and other sciences to identify and explain formative processes and unique characteristics. This course is designed for students in non-science majors. Prerequisite: MTH 094 with grade of C or placement in to higher level math class. MOTR ASTR 100
