Catalog description

A first course in a sequence of courses including analytic geometry, differential calculus, and integral calculus. This series is recommended for majors in engineering, the physical sciences, and mathematics. Topics include: properties of real numbers, introduction to analytic geometry, functions, limits, continuity, the derivative, differentiation of functions, applications of the derivative, antiderivatives, and the definite integral. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of "C" in MTH 170 and MTH 171 or appropriate math placement score.
