Catalog description

This course introduces students to the law enforcement profession. Topics in interpersonal perspectives including ethics, professionalism, and human behavior are covered. Students will explore tactical communications, communication obstacles, cultural diversity, dealing with aggressive behavior, and dealing with death. Additional focus will be placed on the importance of a peace officer's personal health and wellness including stress management, fitness, and nutrition. Students will also complete training in homeland security topics including terrorism/weapons of mass destruction awareness, introduction to incident command systems, and national incident management system training.
