African American Literature is an introductory course designed to study literary writings produced by African Americans from the 1700s to the present. The course will follow a historical approach, surveying major works of literature produced by African Americans throughout the nation's history, often involving periods and movements most significant to African American history. Prerequisite: ENG 101, minimum grade C MOTR LITR 105
