course for non-science majors that introduces the basic principles of modern biology, and their relevance to modern life. Emphasis is placed on the nature and history of scientific thought, basic biological chemistry, cell structure and processes, genetics. Labs associated with this course contain experiments and exercises that reinforce the principles introduced in lecture classes. Four semester hours credit.
