This introductory lab course emphasizes the foundational principles of safe, compassionate nursing care. Students engage in simulated and hands-on practice of essential nursing skills including hygiene, infection control, vital signs, body mechanics, and patient documentation. Guided by Watson’s Caring Science and Human Caring Theory and the QSEN competencies, learners develop the attitudes, knowledge, and skills necessary to provide holistic, evidence-informed, and person-centered care.
