Catalog description

This course discusses some major issues in modern thought beginning with Descartes. It includes the analysis of texts chosen from such important figures as Montaigne, Pascal, Hobbes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Locke, Hume, and Kant. This course is usually taught every year in the fall semester. Prerequisite: at least one 100-level or 200-level course in philosophy.
