Catalog description
The election of Pope Francis has led to a surge in interest in the social teachings of the Catholic Church among Catholics and non-Catholics alike. This course is an extended look at that tradition together with a look at the work of some Catholic social ethicists who draw upon this tradition. We will attend to the many diverse and interconnected themes within this tradition including economic development, poverty, environmental ethics, human rights, workers? rights, racism, and war and peace.
