This course offers an introduction to the sociology of the environment. Intended for majors and non-majors alike, this course gives students an overview of sociology with a specific emphasis on the many complex interactions between contemporary societies and the environment. The course invites students to examine the scope, nature, and human causes of environmental problems, as well as the implications of environmental policy at local, regional, national, and global levels.
