Helping Process

Catalog description

An analysis of the helping relationship, both as a formal professional intervention and as an informal response to anyone in need. Knowledge of the techniques of helping and their application are among the goals as well as a discussion of the factors that contribute to need from a sociological perspective. The class will evaluate how social structures and dynamics help or impede this process.
