An examination of the social and cultural forces that affect the process of aging and the statuses and roles of the aged in human societies. These social impacts on older individuals are discussed in terms of society?s vision of justice. Students will explore how social institutions affect and respond to aging populations. Required of students seeking the Health and Human Services Minor or Certificate on the Gerontology track.
