Catalog description

A study of major social problems in American society and the policies intended to address these problems. Students engage with important contemporary social issues facing communities and society including poverty, violence and environmental decline. The class will emphasize individual and collective action as mechanism for solving social problems. Required for students in the Social Policy Concentration.
