Catalog description

This course offers students clinical education activities, including a range of didactic and hands-on learning activities and experiences through off-campus clinical sites and, on occasion, through the DU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. Clinical contact hours required for certification are accrued through a variety of experiences including direct client contact and simulated clinical experiences across populations and settings. Duquesne University is a member of SARA, therefore, with advance planning, students may engage in clinical education at participating sites throughout the United States. Students are responsible for all personal arrangements and costs associated with out-of-area clinical experiences including housing, transportation, and any site-specific requirements. Pre-requisites: SLP 543 and 544.
