Catalog description
This course includes a broad scope of introductory clinical practice experiences and offers student learning through hands-on, practical training. Students learn under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists to expand knowledge and develop skills in assessment and intervention. Clinical contact hours required for professional certification are accrued through a variety of experiences including direct client contact and simulated clinical experiences across populations and settings. This course is writing intensive with skill development in clinical documentation. Clinical education activities include a range of didactic and hands-on learning activities and experiences through the Duquesne University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and, on occasion, through off-campus clinical settings.
