Catalog description

This course is part one of a two-semester sequence. Students will learn about language disorders and autism in children from birth to 5 years of age, with an emphasis on prevention, screening, assessment, differential diagnosis, intervention, and multicultural considerations. Students will learn to collect and analyze language samples and will demonstrate competence in selecting and justifying assessment tasks and intervention goals and procedures through engagement in clinical case- and problem-based activities. Additional topics may include language disorders in special populations.
