Catalog description

This course presents a survey of the field of human communication sciences and disorders. Students will learn about normal and disordered communication and swallowing across the life span. Topics include: how speech is produced, how language and speech develop in typical children, hearing and hearing disorders, the impact of impairment on speech and language development, and how nervous system damage and disease change adult communication abilities.
