Catalog description

Geriatric care provides an opportunity to explore the area of Gerontology and long terms care. The course presents the unique health care needs of the older adult and introduces students to approaches to managing those needs. Objectives of this course include: ? Identify the unique health needs of older adults; ? Identify strategies related to disease prevention and management in the older adults; ? Explore the importance of families and other social supports; ? Identify long term care resources (community, home, and institutional) to manage these needs
