Advanced Topics in Speech and Hearing Research III serves as a continuation of REHS 607 02: Advanced Topics in Speech & Hearing Research II. The primary objective of this course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the latest emerging technologies utilized in speech production and perception research. Students will explore the application of these technologies in the study of normal and pathological aspects of human verbal and non-verbal communication, including perceptual, acoustic, physiological, and electrophysiological approaches. Throughout the course, students will enhance their skills in conducting comprehensive literature reviews, designing and implementing experiments using cutting-edge technologies, collecting and analyzing data, and performing advanced statistical analyses. Upon completion, students will submit a detailed, professionally-prepared academic report outlining their research findings. This advanced course is designed for graduate students and researchers in speech and hearing sciences, linguistics, psychology, and related fields. Students will gain a deep understanding of the latest technological advancements in speech production and perception research and learn how to apply these tools and techniques to address complex research questions in their own work.
