Catalog description

This is an advanced level course on investigating topics related to human communication, covering speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. The course reviews various topics relating to voice, speech, articulation, and swallowing, as well as different research methodologies related to communication-related research. Through literature review, in class discussion, and experimentation, students will have the opportunity to: (1) understand issues related to communication; (2) integrate knowledge and information gained from the literature and apply to the pathological population; and (3) design and implement experimentation related to human communication.
