Clinical Outcomes and Evidence-Based Practice Research

Catalog description
This course gives the student experience in the process of scientific writing and the tasks associated to this skill in the area of clincial outomes and evidence-based research. This course will also analyze the theories and methods behind developing, conducting, and interpreting research related to clinical outcomes and evidence-based practice. Current literature will be appraised and areas of future research will be outlined and explored. Potential projects will be developed and systematically critiqued. The overall goal of the course would be to write a systematic review on the psychometric evidence available for translated versions of commonly used patient reported outcome instruments for the hip, knee, and foot & ankle regions. Ultimately, it is the intent of this course to create a manuscript that could be submitted for publication in a scholarly journal.
