Catalog description
This course will introduce students to normal language development and terminology/models used to describe and assess the typically developing child. Students will then learn tools for assessing and treating 5 clinical populations that characteristically have language delays or disorders: Children with specific language impairments/disorders; moderate-to-severe intellectual impairments; autism; language and learning disabilities/Reading and writing disorders; augmented communicators (AAC). Cross cultural comparisons will be made.
